Nuraghe Diana

Quartu Sant’Elena (Città Metropolitana di Cagliari)

On the coast between Cagliari and Villasimius, nuraghe Diana has dominated the Gulf of Angels for millennia.

THE SENTINEL OF THE GULF

Nuraghe Diana stands on a promontory along the coast between Cagliari and Villasimius, in a stretch rich in coastal monuments guarding the shoreline.

Frequented for over 3,000 years, the settlement also includes a village of huts.

Over the centuries the nuraghe passed through several phases, from Roman frequentation to use during the Second World War.

Today the nuraghe, the inner courtyard, the remains of the village and some 20th-century alterations can be seen.
